Rick's Graduation from Brigham Young University

On April 24th I took the day off work to go to my brother Rick's graduation from Brigham Young University. It was quite a struggle for me to be there, I had to reschedule 13 patients, but it was so worth it. Rick and I have been very close ever since he graduated from High School. He had a class at the Sandy Center right by my office so we would have lunch together regularly. He has had a long road in earning his baccalaureate degree and has "paid his dues." I am so proud of him! It brought back memories of my graduation and reminded me of the long hours, endless homework, and sacrifice needed to obtain a degree. It is probably one of the hardest things I have done in my life, but the most rewarding. I know Rick probably feels the same way. We both had a great deal on our "plate" as we pursued our education. It wasn't an easy ride for either of us, but I want Rick to know how proud I am of his accomplishment and I know that he will be successful in anything he does. You are such a strength to me Rick, you have always been such a support to me and my family. I know you have many choices to make right now but just remember one of my favorite quotes:

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.” -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

You will always be blessed because you are truly a good person, and you will always be successful in your life because you have so many people who love you.  You are so special to me and I love you with all of my heart!

Congratulations on your success!

April Birthday Shoutout!

I am sorry if I forgot anyone's birthday in April, but as far as I know the only birthday's are my two sweet Dad's.  My dad Ken was born on April 19th and my step-dad Irwin was born on April 20th.

Dad, thank you for all the life lessons you taught me.  You taught me how to be strong and how to work hard.  You also taught me the importance of family and tradition.  I will never forget you singing "Climb Every Mountain" or seeing a tear in your eye when you saw or heard something that touched your heart.  You are the strongest man I have ever known, with the biggest heart!  I know why your co-workers always called you "the gentle giant."  You were always an example to me in everything you did and you never missed an opportunity to have a teaching moment.  I always knew even as a child that my time with you would be short but I am so blessed to have you as my Dad for the time that I did have.

Irwin, you came into our lives at a very difficult time.  You had some very big shoes to fill, but instead of taking my fathers place, you created your own in my heart.  You made my Mom so happy and were such a wonderful father to my younger brothers and sisters.  You had such a big heart and were great at giving hugs.  You were such a wonderful Grandpa to Chelsey and Sydney and they were heart broken when you were no longer there.  Thank you for always supporting me in everything I ever did, you were always so proud of me and I knew it.  You always had so much faith in me!  Thank you for everything!

I miss you both with all of my heart and there isn't one day that I don't think about you.  I was so blessed to have you both in my life and I appreciate all the life lessons you both taught me.  I love you Dad and Irwin!  On your birthdays I promise I will celebrate your life!

Happy Easter!!

Coloring Easter Eggs!

On Easter morning the babies found their Easter baskets full of presents and candy. They were so excited! They don't get candy very often so Bella and Max were in heaven! Bella started right in eating her candy, Max had a harder time due to the fact that he can't unwrap it by himself. However, Bella was eager to help out and every time I turned around she was feeding him chocolate. He had his first sugar meltdown around 9:00 am. I decided it was time to feed them something hearty.

We colored Easter eggs Sunday morning so everyone could participate (the older kids all had plans the night before). We had a great time and Bella really enjoyed making a mess without any repercussions. Max just hangs out, he is the easiest kid. We had fun transforming the eggs into works of art!

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma's House!

We went to Grandma's for Easter dinner and for an Easter egg hunt.  It was such a beautiful spring day, the temperature was around 60 degrees.  A little chilly, but nonetheless a beautiful day!  Karen organized the Easter egg hunt, with everyone helping out.  It was so much fun watching the kids hunt for their eggs!  I can't believe how big all the babies are getting!  They all seemed to have a wonderful time.

It was so nice spending Easter with my family, however we definitely missed spending it with Troy's family in California.  It has become a tradition for us to go the annual Easter party that Cousin Heidi throws every year.  We love spending time with our Fisher family and felt the absence of all of you in our hearts!  We hope your Easter was wonderful and hope we can see you all this summer at the wedding!
